What Do You Think Of The Show American Inventor?
Our Thoughts:As a new product development company created by an inventor to help other inventors design, develop and license their invention ideas to corporations, naturally we were very interested in this show. We wondered if it would capture the true spirit of what inventing is all about. We hoped it would convey the emotions that an inventor experiences on the road to pursuing his/her invention. We wanted the show to focus on the importance of a prototype and product sample with packaging.
To get right to the point, it did. The storyline of the show was a tribute to what it takes to make it as an inventor. It showed viewers that inventions are typically conceived from a need to solve a problem or to make something better. It illustrated and reiterated many times over that to succeed an as inventor, it takes passion, commitment, creativity, determination, and the mindset to do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true. These are also the traits that some of the most influential people of our time have possessed as well. The show also drove home that inventing is not only about inspiration, it's about perspiration too. Succeeding as an inventor takes hard work and relentless perseverance. Inventing is all about the quest to make a contribution that the world will remember you by, to be a catalyst of positive change, and to create opportunities for yourself and your loved ones. It's this kind of progressive thinking and drive that our country was built on and makes it so special. Without inventors, where would the world be today and where will it be tomorrow? Since the dawn of time, ingenuity is what has propelled civilization forward.
The majority of the contestants were not inventors in the traditional sense. They were ordinary everyday people, from all walks of life, with a goal to do whatever it takes to pursue their ideas. At Davison, our clients are one of the same. They're ordinary people who have come up with a solution to a problem and want to do something about it. They're people who need assistance in taking their invention ideas to the next level.
All throughout the show, it was evident that most, if not all of these inventors, presented their invention ideas in the form of physical prototypes. Although some were rougher than others, they aided in the presentation of each invention idea. As a company who firmly believes that prototyping in the form of an actual product sample is essential and the most important phase of invention development, we were thrilled to see this be such an important component of the show. Without a prototype, how can you physically and realistically communicate what your invention actually does? How convincing can your idea actually be without a functional representation of it? Without a prototype to visually demonstrate your idea, what judge or corporation will take it seriously? Without a prototype, you have nothing to present.
To conclude, the first episode proved to be inspiring and entertaining, as well as relevant to all inventors and the invention industry. Not only is the show well produced, it's also very realistic. It's for everyone who has an invention idea they're tired of thinking about and wants to make it happen. In our opinion, this show is an amazing opportunity for everyday people to compete to bring their invention ideas to fruition on such a massive stage. This show will help the world of inventing come full circle. We look forward to watching it evolve.
